What a beautifully well timed post after making a career shifting decision over the weekend! Will be sure to do this challenge, thank you always for your service Phoebe ππππ
Wow! Good job the algorithm. I recently made a list of 100 people on LinkedIn I wanted to talk to. I am having a little bit of success but as you say itβs probably about 1%. I think I need to do 2 things 1) make my messages better 2) rotated out the people I donβt think I will hear from and add new people in the slots
Hey Rob, randomly came across your comment. Looking at your notes, you seem to be into technology and machine learning? I've worked in tech for the past 5-7 years, depending if you count starting a company of my own. I'd be more than happy to connect with you, why don't you shoot me a message?
Wow wow wow. Incredible post. I love the idea of building towards your goals through social connections and relationships, rather than through isolated action.
Thank you for inspiration: I decided not to wait for 2026, but kick off this challenge now! As a researcher and founder incubating something new, it's too easy to switch to a hermit mode (or as they call it, goblin mode? a productive goblin, but still....).
This post unlocked so much for me about the power of genuine, low-pressure outreach! Your β100 Connections Challengeβ is a game-changer. I just revisited it and realized how one thoughtful message can spark not only career-changing opportunities, but also long-term friendships and positive ripple effects. Iβm making it a goal to reach out, connect others, and pay it forward, just as you describe.
A year into my new business - some time ago - I realised I had to do something. 40 calls from my card box (yes, that long ago), generated 18 months of work. It wasn't digital but the same principles apply. Great post, thanks!
Love this! In between gigs right now and just started to reach out to old colleagues for chats. Even though I hated the idea at first, talking to people has become one of the things I most look forward to.
i'm here on Jan. 1 to say thank you for this post! i recently listened to the Aspire Podcast, where Emma was talking about "network building over networking," and this challenge that you've laid out is the perfect framework to apply that! loved it, what an incredible resource!
I created this template based on the 100 Connections Challenge: https://phoebedodds.substack.com/p/this-template-will-help-you-meet

As someone who recently moved cities I love this idea!
Ah yes it works so well for that, esp for making new friends & potential work connections etc. The quickest way to see results!

Thank you Eric! It was definitely a game-changer for me

Ooh amazing!! Even better!
I almost forgot that you can just reach out to people like that. Thanks for the reminder, Phoebe! Iβm getting excited for next year ;)
Haha yes we all need the reminder sometimes!!

So glad to hear this Vivian! It gets so much easier with time, and yes, the ultimate goal is for the project to be as enjoyable as possible...

This was such a great read! Will definitely be implementing this in 2026.
Thank you so much Nesha! Good luck!
This article was an eye opener and it came when I was researching the cold funnel outreach. Talking about coincidences. π
Good article packed with everything you need and I will start to read more of your knowledge.
